Katy Sommer – Development Director

Katy Sommer, Development Director, combines a passion for non-profit work and more than 10 years of experience in marketing, public relations and event management.  In her position as development director, Katy’s responsibilities include fundraising, board relations, marketing and special events.  Prior to GOTR, she served as director of development for Girls Inc. of St. Louis and as a marketing consultant for area non-profits and small businesses.  She has also served as the director of marketing at St. Louis area technology firms.  Katy is a St. Louis native with a Bachelor of Arts in communications from the University of Dayton.

What’s your favorite GOTR moment?

My favorite GOTR moment has been our group discussions with my Girls on Track team.  I’m in awe of how insightful these young girls are.  They give me reason to think about my own responses to our lessons…and sometimes their answers just crack me up!

Ice cream, pizza and bad television

Place you’d most like to visit?

Italy by far, who wouldn’t want to eat their way through a country.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

I am a huge chef wannabe and love to cook!
