5k Race Committee

Our wonderful volunteers support our council and program.  Each year we have a race in mid-November and mid-May to celebrate the completion of the program.  We are looking for organized and motivated volunteers willing to help plan and execute our 5k for more than 5,500 runners.  Our race committee is made up of sub-committees who meet regularly during the quarter leading up to the race.  Below are just some of the race committee responsibilities and opportunities:

• Organizes race day registration and t-shirt pick-up
• Sets-up and tears-down race village
• Sets-up school village and school sign assembly
• Organizes signage and sign placement
• Solicits food/beverage donations and coordinates delivery
• Arranges course marshals and cheer stations throughout the course
• Facilitates water station and finish line water station
• Directs and guides traffic and parking
• Coordinates 1 mile Fun Run
• Logistics of Start and Finish
• Recruits event volunteers
