Site Liaison

Serving as a site liaison is an important position in that is ensures great communication and a connection between the Girls on the Run staff, coaches and the site.  The site liaison is the person who brings the program to his/her school by completing the site application, obtaining approval from the site, which includes a principal’s signature.

Summary of Role:

The site liaison is a volunteer position that provides a valuable link between the site, coaches and the Girls on the Run staff. It is common for the site liaison to also serve in the role as head coach.

Core Duties/Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Act as primary contact with GOTR staff
  • Assisting in the recruitment of at least two coaches for the site if necessary
  • Meeting coaches prior to the start of the season
  • Coordinating practice space at site (indoor and outdoor)
  • Providing GOTR with necessary info for online program registration (practice days and times, key contacts, etc.)
  • Working with site to distribute materials explaining registration to all girls who will be in 3-5 grade (GOTR) and/or 6-8 grade (GOT) at the time of the season
  • Take the lead on marketing the program to parents and age-appropriate girls via PTO meetings, newsletter articles, faculty/staff meetings, website, open houses, etc. prior to registration period
  • Act as primary contact if school or parents have questions
  • Coordinating picking up items from GOTR office such as marketing materials, supplies, t-shirts, etc. several times throughout the season
  • Providing occasional feedback to the St. Louis council as requested or as necessary
  • Reading/reviewing weekly communication from GOTR staff and taking necessary actions

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Requirements:

  • Attend a four-hour coaches training with the Girls on the Run St. Louis staff
